The Dog & Cat and Signing

My children LOVE my parents' dog. Love her. They even wanted to bring a Christmas present for her.The dog is named Angel and she is about 11 years old. Her age is starting to show, she is a lot slower moving. But she is very patient with the kids.
She gets all sorts of love and attention from my kids. They wanted to brush her coat all the time the first few days we were here.
My parents also have a cat named Jasper. He's a long hair Siamese cat and he is FEISTY. He growls and swats at my kids and they are scared of him. Well, the girls are. Captain Adorable just yells with excitement when he sees the cat. The girls freak out when the cat is in the room. My parents put the cat in the bathroom or the garage to keep him away from the kids. The girls are scared to go in the bathroom because they think the cat might be in there. Ballerina drew a sign for their bedroom door with a cat crossed out with a frowny face and a dog circled with a smiley face. My parents squirt the cat with a water bottle if he gets near the Christmas tree since he has knocked it over a couple of times. My girls have taken great pleasure in getting to squirt the cat a few times. Sweetie especially enjoys squirting the cat and she likes to mess with the cat by swatting him with a blanket. I tell her to stop and she'll say, "But I like the cat." She also tells us that the cat is mean and the dog is nice.
Captain Adorable likes putting these necklaces around his neck. Whenever he finds them he puts them on. Both the girls liked doing that at his age as well.
Captain Adorable's sign language has exploded since visiting Utah. Back at home he only signed a handful of words, now he signs 30 or more. He can sign grandma, grandpa, dad, eat, more, please, milk, all done, sleep, horse, dog, go, down, rain, snow, outside, frog, etc. He has also gotten pretty interested in cell phones.
If mine is sticking out of my pocket Captain Adorable will snatch it and yell at me to open it for him. He loves pushing the buttons.
He's so cute.

your parents having pets was instant baby entertainment. always nice.

Very cute pics of Cpt A. And I was definitely impressed by his increased sign usage. Now we just need to have him use them instead of squealing at us.
