Freezing Beach Day

All signs pointed to a beautiful day at the beach. But there was wind. So it was sunny and almost 70 degrees, but it was COLD. Not my favorite. But we stayed for about an hour and a half. We met up with Abra and her boys. Good thing too since Sweetie wanted to go and get as wet as possible in the FREEZING cold water. Abra was pretty much the only one willing to go and get soaked with her.
Whenever Abra picked Sweetie up, Sweetie would shout, "Put me down!" She wanted to be in the water!
Ballerina was happy to have cousin Connor around to carry her places. She does NOT like the waves.
We finally convinced Sweetie to come and sit to get warm.
Captain Adorable spent about half of the time in this little tent that was a great shelter from the wind.
Here's Handsome Husband being handsome.Ballerina found a streamer that was probably once attached to a kite.
Notice how my mom is wearing GLOVES. It was COLD.
Ballerina was SO happy to play with this streamer.
The tide was just going out and we had to walk around that point to get to the waterfall, because you KNOW we were at Hug Point, our favorite beach.
Captain Adorable was giving Abra some love:It was as if Sweetie was immune to the cold. She LOVES the beach. If she sees pictures on the computer she wants to go to the beach. So she was determined to have fun, whether it was cold or not.
Handsome Husband took Sweetie to explore the waterfall.
My mom said I was dressed like an English rider. Nice. I was wearing snow boots so my feet wouldn't get wet. It worked like a charm. And my red jacket was the perfect windbreaker.
Pics by the waterfall.
Sweetie and Handsome Husband climbing up above the falls.
Sweetie rode Handsome Husband's back down.
I was TOTALLY exhausted after the beach and I crashed on the couch when we got home. A trip to the beach probably wasn't the best thing to do while recovering, but it was pretty.

Here Ballerina was making Captain Adorable laugh while I was napping.
My mom brought the girls some new play make-up and they were pretty excited about trying it out.
