We were so surprised and happy to find that the path followed the creek and there were falls all along that creek! There were nice bridges, stairs and pathways and many spots that you could go down to play in the water. Ballerina was excited that she had some binoculars.

Sweetie found this little massive log and she was determined to throw it in the water.

We went up to the viewpoint.
On the way back down we walked by a family who had caught a TON of these lizard things. Ballerina wanted to catch one SO badly.
She didn't want to wear her coat anymore, but we didn't want to carry it for her. We told her to tie it around her waist, wear it or hold it. She finally decided to wear it with the hood on her head. Then she decided that with the coat draped like that and with her walking stick that she made a great shepherd. So she started pretending to herd sheep. Way to make the best of a situation!
We stopped at a good exploring place so we could enjoy the creek.
The girls really enjoyed throwing rocks in the water. Handsome Husband skipped some rocks for them. It was so shallow that if they threw the rock hard enough they could make them "skip" off the rocks in the creek bed.
Captain Adorable got out of the backpack to explore.
Isn't it amazing how entertaining nature is?
Ballerina had no patience for my worrying. She went right across the log bridge with no problem.

This is how I let Captain Adorable play in the water.
Ballerina is still trying to find some lizards. She wanted an empty plastic bag to store them in. She was VERY distraught when we couldn't find any bags or lizards.
It was a BEAUTIFUL, easy hike. Definitely worth the windy road to get to. 
Afterward, we drove back home, stopping at Sweet Tomatoes for dinner.

Cool, you even caught that rock in mid jump with your camera. Family pics with waterfalls in the background look gorgeous. It is funny that the pictures almost look prettier than actually being there in person.
Yes, nature is the best entertainer for all ages. As a youth we had a pond in the neighborhood and a small stream in our backyard. Those were popular play places. Water can entertain for hours!
Wow there were 51 pics in that post :). your blog has been taking longer and longer to pull up while I am at work. It must be the pics :).
Thanks again for being willing to go hiking. I love the outdoors and would love to do more hiking and camping.
